This tool set removes broken spark plugs from 2004 and newer Triton 3 valve per cylinder engines. The set includes a unique porcelain pusher tool and a tapered left-hand thread remover for removing the broken spark plug without leaving the porcelain in the engine cylinder. Porcelain pusher is used to press the porcelain piece, without breaking the porcelain, farther into the plug tip. This provides space for the left hand thread remover to bite into the stainless steel plug tip so it can then be pulled. I had to change the plugs on my 2005 F150. My truck died and I had to have it towed home to change the plugs. Big Tip, don't wait this long to change the plugs. I had my concerns about this tool after reading that it strips out. The only way to dull or strip this tool is by not using any cutting oil. Super hard steel. Any drill or tap can be damaged on the first use by not using a cutting oil or lube. The directions say to put a glob of grease on the tip of the tool before threading into the spark plug. (this does 2 things, lubes the threads to keep them sharp and keeps metal shavings from falling into your cylinders) Make sure to cote the tap threads as well. Grease, Nickel Anti-Seize you bought, Tap Magic, Etc.. Will do the trick to keep that tool sharp to remove all 8 if need be. I only broke 2 plugs. One I only needed to pull out the cap, the second I had to use the pusher tool. Man does that work slick, it pushes the pottery right down out of the way for the removal tool. Other Tip, neck down the end of your shop vac to a hose that will fit down the spark plug hole. This will allow you to clean out the small broken pieces before you pull out the cap if you used the pusher tool. Or shoot air down in it with a blow gun. Good Luck. Take your time!
